I knew I shouldn't have clicked on this thread....
More of the same, polarized opposites still feuding, each accusing the other of 'loading' the debate in this and other threads; the only difference I see is that NOW, they are not calling each other 'unmentionables', they are hinting and insinuating it. Polishing their games, I guess.......
Here's the bottom line, folks: you do what you do, and let me do what I do, and keep your f'n opinion to yourself until I'm out of hearing range. I will do the same. Neither of you have ANY factual basis for belittling the other train of thought; you are NOT automatically smarter than the other side because of your choice.
For the 'anti-helmets': you cannot 'reason' away what amounts to religious belief; ignore, and go about your life. Just remember that you do not possess any special wisdom, you are arguing your point as strenuously as anyone. Shut it and pedal.
For the 'pro-helmets': one fact for you to remember when you argue -- if someone who does not conform to your belief gets hurt and requires extreme care, it's not "YOUR MONEY, YOUR TAX DOLLARS" keeping them alive, they CEASED being "YOUR" dollars when our favorite Uncle collected them. They could just as easily be MINE, or one of the Walton family. That said, embrace your personal choice and security, real or not. That's what you need to be fulfilled, that's fine. Other people need other things for fulfillment, it's not your call what those things should be.
To BOTH: "Never argue with a fool, people may not be able to tell the difference." You prove this every time this debate resumes. So learn to "live and let live".
I'm out.
