Early 50's Singer Slant needle 404 and a Singer 503 Rocketeer from around 1961. Some of the best machines ever built! There is one more modern Husquavarna and I believe their may be a modern Viking too, but the Singers are the ones that get used the most.

My wife has a 1961-62 503 Rocketeer... I bought my 403 (same internals as the 503) because I wanted a machine that could do heavier work and although they were not sold as industrial machines, my Singer guy says these are better than most modern industrial machines due to the high quality of parts and because they are gear driven.

This applies to cycling in that I got a sewing machine so I could make and mend cycling gear and bags and the vintage Singers tend to be better than anything you can buy now unless you are willing to pay 1000's of dollars.
