Nice looling pannier. It kind of reminds me of TB Designs'. His plans also uses a bag inside of a "carrier". But his carrier is cloth, not a trash bin.

My wife has a 1961-62 503 Rocketeer... I bought my 403 (same internals as the 503) because I wanted a machine that could do heavier work and although they were not sold as industrial machines, my Singer guy says these are better than most modern industrial machines due to the high quality of parts and because they are gear driven.

This applies to cycling in that I got a sewing machine so I could make and mend cycling gear and bags and the vintage Singers tend to be better than anything you can buy now unless you are willing to pay 1000's of dollars.

Bikes: '10 Scattante CFR

This looks like a good solution and was wondering combining this idea with the kitty litter bucket idea would not be a good idea. Light weight flexible packing with solid mounting.

Bikes: Co-Motion Cappuccino Tandem,'88 Bob Jackson Touring, Co-Motion Cascadia Touring, Open U.P., Ritchie Titanium Breakaway, Frances Cycles SmallHaul cargo bike. Those are the permanent ones; others wander in and out of the stable occasionally as well.

Maybe some useful info here too https://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...shell-panniers

Singer Model 15 Treadle, have both treadle and portable cases and a hand crank for use in the portable case. Special ordered from Singer in 19 and 83 (they still make treadle machines for the areas of the world without electricity.)

Great job on the pannier, I think I'll try my hand at making a pair
