I received some additional photos from the seller and I would be reasonably certain that the bike is authentic. If the seller gives me permission, I will post some of the other photos that he has sent me. This bike does show something that many collectors have simply not understood, namely that back in the 1940's, city bikes were generally the most expensive bikes in the best shops' line-up of bikes. Racing bikes were not generally the most expensive bikes.
