Want a Giotto Cinelli?
Now's your chance.

At the very least, the badge is worth the price of admission. My guess, a cash offer will be accepted in the next 48 hours and the listing will be pulled. Act now.

Until I see some extra photos, I am not about to comment on the honesty of the frame. There is nothing that would immediately preclude it being a true Giotto Cinelli bike and the headbadge looks correct, but given what other bikes have turned up in the past claiming to be Giotto Cinelli's, I am somewhat hesitant.

i've seen some before. looks like an oooold frame, i'm not great with my cycling history but step-through frames were being built before deraillers and freewheels. back then everything was a fixed gear.

Can someone enlighten me/us about Giotto Cinelli's?

Older brother of Cino. Was the one to first make Cinelli bars, stems and bikes. Sold his company to his brother Cino when he took over his father-in-law's plastics company. Made bars and stems for a number of years starting in the late 30's. Built bikes for less than two years in 1946 and 1947. There are probably less than 200 bikes that were ever made that carried the Giotto Cinelli name.

I received some additional photos from the seller and I would be reasonably certain that the bike is authentic. If the seller gives me permission, I will post some of the other photos that he has sent me. This bike does show something that many collectors have simply not understood, namely that back in the 1940's, city bikes were generally the most expensive bikes in the best shops' line-up of bikes. Racing bikes were not generally the most expensive bikes.

Not exactly correct for the frame, but these integrated Cinelli bars would be nice for it.

Neat bike. It has the exact same braze-ons for the rod brakes and pump peg as the 1937 women's Gloria I bought a while back. I wonder if this bike's front brake rod goes through the inside of the steerer tube like my bike.
Definately can't use the bars I posted earlier.

UPDATE:
With over 4 days still to run and the price is already at $2000 for frame and fork.

All you need to complete it is .... Everything! I would really like to see the completed project. I have spent a great deal of time and effort into other restorations, but even for me, this is too much work!
