Before you start worrying too much about what you are or are not using, think about what makes a person stink in the first place.

Your body has two type of sweat glands. Most sweat glands secrete essentially saline. A smaller percentage of your sweat glands secrete an oily type of sweat. These glands are found in greater concentration in areas of your body that have greater concentrations of hair. Both types of sweat are odorless. What causes BO is the bacteria which live on the oily type sweat. Actually it's not the bacteria themselves, but their waste products that stink. It takes several hours for this process to occur.

The best defense against BO is to take a shower before you ride, and use a good strong anti-bacterial soap on all those areas which have a lot of hair on them. If you're taking a shower the night before, you're just allowing more time for the bacteria to build up a good culture on your body.

Like the late, great Redd Foxx used to say, "You can't just wash your whole a$$, you've got to wash the a$$ HOLE."
