I use Degree, and apply it after the morning shower, and after the post-commute cool-down. Then reapply after the afternooon commute shower.
Always used Degree since it came out and have always had great luck with it.

I actually don't smell like lavender unless you have your nose in my pit (which I guess could be a problem), though lavender is a nice smell. But anyway, many of those non-aluminum "natural" off-the-shelf deodorants use a lot of the same ingredients (lavender, aloe, witch hazel, etc). Don’t fear the lavender!

Both formulas used lavender oil, which has natural anti-bacterial properties. Both formulas have also been working great, as good as any name brand and significantly cheaper, especially since even a small batch can last almost 6 months. When traveling I've been using the small plastic travel shampoo bottles to store the gel, and a small Tupperware tub to keep the powdered stuff. Normally if your ride is short and you have a restroom at your disposal, all you really need to do is splash your pits with some soap and water, dry, and put on some deodorant.

Yeah, that's exactly what I use. For the average batch I use a 1/2 cup of cornstarch, 1/2 cup of baking soda, and a drop or two of lavender oil or cinnamon oil (natural anti-bacterial). The cornstarch apparently keeps the baking soda from clumping. The Altoid tin is a really good idea - I'll have to try that.

The best body spray I've used is Secret for women, the sparkling vanilla scent. I make up the excuse that I took it from my girlfriend because I didn't have money to buy my own at the time.

I too like the idea of sweating as much as possible from pits. Why stop the sweat?
This above deoderant (as do others) seem to work fine and I don't stink at all (so I'm told by wife)

Before you start worrying too much about what you are or are not using, think about what makes a person stink in the first place.
Your body has two type of sweat glands. Most sweat glands secrete essentially saline. A smaller percentage of your sweat glands secrete an oily type of sweat. These glands are found in greater concentration in areas of your body that have greater concentrations of hair. Both types of sweat are odorless. What causes BO is the bacteria which live on the oily type sweat. Actually it's not the bacteria themselves, but their waste products that stink. It takes several hours for this process to occur.
The best defense against BO is to take a shower before you ride, and use a good strong anti-bacterial soap on all those areas which have a lot of hair on them. If you're taking a shower the night before, you're just allowing more time for the bacteria to build up a good culture on your body.
Like the late, great Redd Foxx used to say, "You can't just wash your whole a$$, you've got to wash the a$$ HOLE."

Here's what I do...
I shower. Dry myself off. Apply an odourless aluminium-based (nothing else really works - and it's harmless, which unfiltered vegetable oils aren't!) antiperspirant.
That keeps me from smelling for at least three days. Due to very dry skin, I can't shower daily without problems. But, as it turns out, I don't smell after two days, even when I've been out on long rides both days.
I start to smell a little on the third day.
Usually, I shower every other day, though. More often if I'm really sweaty.

If your armpits are already stinky and you want them to stop stinking real fast, try rubbing alcohol. It's one of the more effective antiseptics out there...
Mind you, after you use it you'd do well to put some deodorant on.
Old spice works pretty well for me.

I don't use anti-perspirant because you stop that area of the body (can't completely stop it anyway especially while exercising) from sweating that it was made to do when you get hot. I also found that Anti-perspirants actually make you feel hotter in the area you apply it. I use only deodorant, and of course shower after riding. Sniff sniff sniff, whats that smell?

I tried degree, it did NOT go on clear, it left white stains on my black shirts, it did NOT work as good as Old Spice high endurance.
So None of the above
