It could be OK in very limited circumstances if some greater harm would come from complying with the law, but just riding where prohibited, because you want to, is illegal. If you don't like it, try changing the law. Otherwise, you are running the risk of being ticketed. Just make sure you are carrying ID so they don't lock you up.
