so how much is a set of stronger rims and wet weather brake pads for your current bike? for a 2.4 mile commute, unless you are riding muddy rocky downhill style singletrack in the rain, i would think twice about the suspension fork and disk brakes.
I got no idea on the rims or wheels (wheel building isn't currently one of my skills), but the pads would probably be some Kool Stops, but unsure whether to go with black or salmon...
