There is no way in hell I'd pay $2,000 for ANY dented frame...NONE. Not a Sachs...not a Peg and not a Confente.
Confession time...about 3 years ago...I came across a Henry James frame with lots of rare simplex and huret stuff on it. Seller was asking $500. It had a small dent in the TT and I wasn't familiar enough with how rare a James was to understand what I was passing up...I also had no clue on the value of Simplex/Huret parts at that point (it was, of course, a Ti duopar). I walked away because of the dent...so my hatred of dents might be somewhat irrational.
I must admit, I share your "dentphobia" as well! I had this great 76 masi and accidentally put a small dent in the tt. I sold it within a month....never thought id sell that bike....but that dent just freaked me out. It will be interesting to see what happens with that bianchi on ebay. I will be watching
