He definitely has the right to ask whatever he'd like...and, as you said, I have bikes I would only sell for a substantial markup on "market" value. If someone has an emotional attachment to this, sure...buy it. You don't have to justify anything to me. I am trying to point out that I think his asking price is out of line with what I'd perceive to be market value. Far out of line.

so, i wonder what happened to the orig. parts? dont think many people would want x4 lithoed parts...even if they are c record. Kind of like that anniversary bianchi that showed up the other day...cool parts but all marked bianchi anniversary...not for just any bike thats for sure. That dent isnt all that bad. I know a guy that is inventing a tool to fix that right up.

There is no way in hell I'd pay $2,000 for ANY dented frame...NONE. Not a Sachs...not a Peg and not a Confente.
Confession time...about 3 years ago...I came across a Henry James frame with lots of rare simplex and huret stuff on it. Seller was asking $500. It had a small dent in the TT and I wasn't familiar enough with how rare a James was to understand what I was passing up...I also had no clue on the value of Simplex/Huret parts at that point (it was, of course, a Ti duopar). I walked away because of the dent...so my hatred of dents might be somewhat irrational.

I think it would be very hard to say with any degree of accuracy what this did and din't come with. As I mentioned the paint is different from the one in the '87 catalog and the world Champ decal looks more like the ones used in '88 and later (round V retangular) there is no X-4 in the '88 or 90.
So was this sold with fancy C-Rec and SR bits or was it purchased new as a frame/fork only? did a previous owner strip the good bits
If someone here wins this and your going to toss that Croce da Anue stuff in the trash let me know I would be interested in the RD

Anything is possible, MOST De Rosas were sold as frames. I remembered Cobaltos as being in 85'-86', but now that I'm thinking about it they might have been 1987.

I think alot of people opted for Cobaltos rather then the more complicated and epensive Deltas. There was a rumor that one of the bigger Mass. AM/Pro teams sponsored by Gita and riding nice DeRosas were forced to use Deltas or they would not get Campi groups. Whether that is true or not who is to say but they did have some nice looking rides. Too bad their director sportiff and most of the team were jerks.
