Thanks all. It's funny, I've been commuting a long time and have had few issues. In my head, my skill and preparation made me safe and guys that got hit usually could have done more to prevent it. I was obviously fooling myself. The nice thing is in two months I'll be on a bike again, I have good friends, good family, good wife and the girl who hit me was honest, responsible and insured. As hard as it is not to be angry and sorry for myself, the truth is I'm lucky. I'm also lucky to be part of this community.
Aaron, I am soooo sorry this happened to you. I am also sorry I missed this thread yesterday. Just know that my prayers and get-well vibes will be headed your way.
If any good comes of this, it is to remind those of us who get a little too comfortable riding in traffic that this can happen to anyone. I know I am guilty of this. My wife reminds me that she is not worried about what *I* do on the road, but what some careless driver does.
I won't bother repeating what has been said already about lawyers and listening to your docs. It sounds like you are handling it well. Just keep your spirits up and GET WELL!!!
