Glad to have stumbled on this post. I also own a Synapse and even though I'm quite happy with its stock 25mm which enables me to ride on almost anything but a true off-road path, it's good to know that if ever I have a future need for it, I could swap my tires with 28mm without having to wrestle with the calipers.
