cannondale synapse tire question

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Not a direct answer, the alloy synapse I bought on ebay came with schwalbe marathon supreme 26mm on it and there was plenty of room.

Thanks Dave. Im looking at one of the carbon models, I assume they have nearly identical geometries though? Tires (and sizes) have a tendency to be all over the map as to what they actually are, which is why I would like others to chime in on what they actually have that fits (the bigger the better).

I'm sure some 28s will fit, but others may not. (Michelin tends to run big.) If you're buying new, does the shop have a hybrid or cross bike with 28s or even 32s? Could throw on the front wheel for a peek.

Glad to have stumbled on this post. I also own a Synapse and even though I'm quite happy with its stock 25mm which enables me to ride on almost anything but a true off-road path, it's good to know that if ever I have a future need for it, I could swap my tires with 28mm without having to wrestle with the calipers. Thanks for this info.
