I look for climbs (yeah, I must have hit my head) because I suck at them. My mantra is... practice what you suck at. No use practicing what you are already good at eh?
My Grandfather was from Valle Crucis. I wish I knew exactly where.
If I ever had to move from here that's on my short list of places I'd like to move to.

Valle Crucis is a lovely part of the world and great biking country! We have plenty of other rides like that down here. You may want to look at the Assault on Mt. Mitchell, the Bridge to Bridge, the Hurt, Pain and Agony and the Grizzly amongst many others. Hills we got and plenty!!
