Valle Crucis is a lovely part of the world and great biking country! We have plenty of other rides like that down here. You may want to look at the Assault on Mt. Mitchell, the Bridge to Bridge, the Hurt, Pain and Agony and the Grizzly amongst many others. Hills we got and plenty!!
I did Bridge to Bridge years ago. What a GREAT Ride!! I'd be interested in doing that again this year if it still falls late in the year like it used to. Right now my big goal for the year is the
mountain mama which has 13k ft of climbing over 100 miles. Everything between now and then(Aug 4th) is geared towards building for that.
I have a century coming up in May with a few other BF posters, and then looking at a possible second one later in May. June is going to be particularly tough. IBOHUNT and I are doing
1 metric w 8k ft of climbing and
1 century w /6k ft of climbing 2 weeks apart from each other but July is wide open. Do any of those other rides happen in July?
