I have a new Roubaix SL3 which is carbon fiber with carbon post and no carbon paste is suggested and I don't run any. With carbon on Al I would however.

PS: use alcohol to thoroughly clean the interior of the seat tube and seat post before applying the carbon paste.
Since the frame is aluminum, use the carbon paste to prevent the post siezing in the seat tube. Also, the seat tube should have torque specs -- they should be considered as well.
