Yeah...9 times out of 10, if I'm running on a trail and someone is on a bike, I'll give them space. But if someone gives me attitude, if I come across them again, I'm much more likely to take advantage of the fact that I have the right of way. If you encounter ten pedestrians and one of them is a jerk, brush it off and don't let it ruin your day because it's not worth it. On the other hand, if you encounter ten pedestrians and all ten of them are jerks worthy of being referred to as "damn peds," chances are you're the jerk. Smile, wave, give them a friendly greeting, and I would bet that the number of jerks you meet will decrease significantly. There'll still be some jerks, but most people are more apt to be friendly to you if you're friendly to them.
