It didn't happen at work, but I got food poisoning recently after eating at a pub. I got lucky, I came home not long after eating and the festivities didn't start untill about two hours after after I got home. Otherwise I would have been all asplody in public...
For recovery: clear fluids. AVOID DAIRY AT ALL COSTS (ask me how I know), cut down on sugar and definitely avoid anything fatty. Sports drinks with artificial sweetener agreed with me, and after a day I drank watered-down fruit juice (2/3 juice, 1/3 water) but YMMV. Don't eat solid food until after the diarrhea stops. Stay at home for a couple days until, um, normal functioning resumes.
Weshigh- if you're feeling weak, don't even bother going to work tomorrow, you'll feel absolutely miserable and take longer to recover.
