Yeah, sports drinks are totally hard on your stomach, that's why you'd never ever use them while you're exercising or anything.
I wouldn't.
My exercise food/drink:
- heavy cream (from grass-fed cattle)
- water
- salty foods when finished
If I drink Gatorade, or use those sport gels, I get the squirts a couple of hours after the exercise.
PS This 'diet' only applies when I do longer distance running/cycling. When I just do regular exercise (5-10km run or 10-20km ride) I don't consume anything before or during.
