I don't know how many of you listen to the fredcast, but he had two items on last week's podcast that are of potential interest to commuters. One is an app for iphones or Androids called Bike Crash Kit. It's a free app that kind of guides you through everything you should get while at the scene of an accident. It seems like it would be worth downloading & keeping on the phone just in case.
Also, a company that does asset tagging is offering a free set of bar-coded stickers to bike owners, to help in recovering a lost bike.

I don't know about other cities but NYPD offers free bike registration and tagging.
