I'm 150-155 and have had no problems with 23s, 22s or 21s. That said 25ish is my favorite tire width.

What's the make/model of the rim? Many will handle 25mm tires. Lately I've been going with Panaracer Stradius Sport in the 26mm width for bargain tires. Work fine on some kinda wide touring rims I have.
