In my experience, if you're riding more than a couple of hours and using the phone as a cyclometer and/or for nav, you'll need an aux battery. I looked at this a while ago and between the apps/case/battery/sensors(HR,cadence,wheel)/data-connectivity, I decided on a Garmin Edge instead.
