I took the plunge and bought a nice double-edge razor a while back. I paid $8 for a pack of blades a year and a half ago... I still have about 3/4 of the pack left. The decision was made after I came to the conclusion that my hair is too course to fit in-between the blades of the newer 3 and 5 blade razors. Occasionally I'll look back at the fancy multi-blade razors and wonder if it would be worth it... but the price always deters me.

Honestly, the hardest part of shaving with a double-edge is over the kneecap. Other than that, life is good.
