Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Why? Nobody cares how you shave your face. Get a disposable, shave in the shower and be done with it. I don't get all this romanticizing over straight razors.

like I said before, a straight razor shave, or even a double edge razor shave isn't about romanticizing, or feeling macho... It's because people with wussy, sensitive skin, can get better shaves with them. I cannot use a bic disposable, mach 3, fusion, pro -glide, or any of that other grocery store stuff to shave my face. It just doesn't work. Lots of people are the same way, and unfortunately, lots of people just assuming that shaving needs to be irritating or painful.

Some people can ride 200 miles in a day in jean shorts... I can't and you probably can't either but stop romanticizing bibs and just ride in jeans. See how that works?

Try using the pre shave oil from The Art of Shaving. I thought it was bs til I tried it, works great. Their shaving cream is also good, lasts a long time, I use the badger brush, shave in the shower. Not sure the razor makes all that much difference, I've tried the two blade, three blade, five blade, don't notice a huge difference. Have considered the double edged but not tried that yet.
