Except when dealing with womens' razors which are specifically designed to not work, I can get a good shave with anything including old skool razor blades.
They used to sell the Pro Glide on eBay for about a buck a blade, bit it appears that no longer happens. I still have two 4-packs left from three years ago. I use a straight edge on my face, and that is the closest shave you can get, but not on the legs.

I am also a fan of the double-edged. It's all in prep and taking your time. No need to rush such a girly activity.
