Wouldn't worry about it really. My guess is that it also has an English threaded bottom bracket which means you have tons of choices for replacing the bottom bracket, crankset, etc.

Even it were French threaded there are still choices. For that matter, just service it regularly and you won't have to worry about it.

I suppose there's a remote chance it's got one of those Helicomatic hubs but it's probably too new for that. Can't really find cassettes for those too easily. In that case, a bad cassette means getting a new rear wheel.

I've had a couple Peugeots. One from the 70's and one from the 80's. Don't lose the seat posts but other than that, you'll be fine.
