The Sport Deluxe was a lower end, recreational bike. Hi-Ten frame, steel wheels, and lower end components.

That being said, the quality of Panasonic bikes of this era were as good as any of the other major Japanese bikes like Fuji, Nishiki, Miyata, etc.

Here is a Sport Deluxe that I recently found at a garage sale. It wasn't actually in the garage sale but I saw it hanging in the corner of the garage and made an offer for it. It should make someone a nice little commuter bike.
