And no it's not all highway at all, in fact quite the opposite. It's mostly just my commute to work, which is mostly 2-lane roads with several stop signs, but only 2 traffic signals in about 14 miles. So it's not stop-and-go traffic either. And yes I do romp on it in the VTEC range from time to time.
Since the 1st of January I've driven about 5,000 miles, and only 3 fillups out of 24 have averaged below 30 mpg. I want a 4-door TSX 6-speed badly, but I'll probably never get rid of this car, just because it's so darned reliable and efficient.
Actually the 2g GS-R (DA chassis) w/the B17A was faster than the 3g GS-Rs (DB chassis) w/B18C due to weight and gearing. Usually by nearly a full second in the 1/4 mile, but, they're really hard to find ... up there with a good 323GTX and SAAB 9-2X Aero.
For what it's worth, I'm totally an Audi man after moving to Germany. I find that the Japanese cars don't maintain speed as well (averaging 120mph for an hour is much easier on me in an Audi than in a Subaru/Honda, for example). And, after driving a VW Passat Diesel wagon from Munich to Venice and an OPEL (GM) back, I'm definitely never riding in a GM again (at sustained higher speeds the German engineering really shines.)
