Some bidders on ebay are idiots, or at the very least, lazy. I see bike supplies on ebay regularly for prices higher than several of the on line sellers.

+1 I buy from Jensen a lot. Sometimes their price is on the high side, but they will price match with all the other on line folks (and I like their service). So more and more, I consolidate my orders and place them with Jensen. Just ordered from them this morning in fact (and just got an approval email on a price match, so I will order again tomorrow).

One time, I bought three paperback books on Amazon, read them, and decided to run a test reselling them on ebay (two weeks later). So I auctioned the 3 as a set, started them out at a penny. Got more for those books on ebay, than I paid on Amazon, and the buyer paid me shipping too.

A friend of mine sold a broken toaster once, it was one of those you can get new at Walmart for $10. And his title was Broken Toaster. He got something like $25 for it, PLUS shipping.

To be fair, most of ebay stuff does not go that silly high, and there continue to be good deals out there.
