Experience mountain bike riding in the woods (single track) has taught me that wet wood (logs, tree roots, erosion control beams) is bad. No matter what kind of tire tread (haven't ridden MTB with studded tires, obviously).
Similar to riding on ice, you have to keep it straight, refrain from pedaling, and balance perfectly to cost across. One false move...WHAM!
