Problem is (as far as cycling/commuting is concerned), I've been driving my car 11 years, and I still love it. Acura Integra GS-R bought in 2001 with 88,000 miles, currently now has 316,000 miles with original engine and transmission, still averages 31.x MPG overall. When I took my current job right out of college, I was living with my parents and driving 100 miles a day plus weekends - 3K miles a month. Now I have my own house and have 25 mile round trip commute.
