Hello all, new to this forum and just getting back into cycling.

My wife and I also attempted to order Navigator 2.0's but were also sold out. So I ordered a pair of Shift 2's.

BUT, while I was waiting for them to come in, I looked at a few other Trek's and just happened to see another similar bike (don't remember what model) and saw the trigger shifters and upgraded grips. I looked online at Trek for Shift info, and saw the Shift 3. After reviewing all the differences, I changed my order to a pair of 3's. Just got them in last week, and we have been riding them as much as possible. Sooooooooo glad I changed them to the 3. Love the trigger shifters, (even though the upgrade from 21 speeds to 24 is more or less useless to us), the upgraded grips, saddle and tires. The suspension seat post and forks seem stiff but work well. They ride great.

All in all, we are very happy with the upgrade. I feel it was worthwhile the extra cost. And of course, it helps to have a really good cycle shop to work with, one that really knows their stuff.

BTW, we are seniors in our late 60's, to me, 72. We too, are very curious as to anyone else's experience with the Shift 3.

The only noticeable differences were the 'sportier' frame lines(more like a mountain bike) and cleaner welds.....and the $50 increase in price....$549 ipo $499.
I went ahead and bought it and am very pleased so far. It's the Sparkling Silver 18.5".
