Some people suggest it's due to high solar flames but i don't think so because i have seen so accurate results in other posts. Maybe it's all my crappy mobile phone can do?
It is not just MapMyRide. I have had the same thing happen with MyTracks on my Android. Apparently the GPS is hunting between satellites which do not agree precisely on my location and the error factor has me zig-zagging or even going in spirals. When the ride is over it can read as much as 50% longer than and faster than is correct. It happens one day and then might not happen again for several weeks.
