I replied to your other thread (Touring forum) with a bike company that you should check out. I'm not sure if it's too much bike for what you want, but I thought that you would like a few opinions beside the standard BF ones (especially because the riding styles differ greatly across the pond). I've done a few 50+ miles rides on my MTB and find it not bad at all.

It also depends on the surface your riding, as I have little interest in sharing my riding space with autos, therefore, my surfaces tend to be more varied and rougher, on the whole.
