So the son has gone- or will be- and the next phase of his life is about to start. All you have to worry about is the training. All that hard work and physical torture has to be relieved at some point so expect a few "War" wounds when he lets off steam whenever allowed off the base.
Once he gets trained and has the skill required there are no problems. Just face it--Navigators don'e often get lost so he will be OK.
Just you to worry about now.
