Waterproof rainwear is very inexpensive. A plastic garbage is a good example. BREATHABLE rainwear gets progressively more expensive as it gets more effective. The best stuff will set you back $400 to $600 and although it'll actually work - there's still your hands and feet to worry about if its a bit cold.

Sometimes I think a well placed motel room is the best solution.
