Pshhh...

Everyone is quick to assume these wheels are not street-suitable. A light rider ~ <170 lbs who doesn't ride like a jackass and who knows how to unweight themselves when hitting large bumps would probably have little trouble with those wheels. I worked with a guy who rode a set of Ellipses for a year or two and didn't complain about them coming out of true too easily. I rode a fully loaded touring bike with a 24/20 spoke set of Bontrager Race paired spoke wheels because they were all I had at the time. I only broke one alloy nipple over 1,000 miles. I even sunk my front wheel into a storm drain at one point and only gave myself a slight hop in the wheel.

Just my $.02.
