This will be my monsoon/mudfest bike and I plan to try just using a backpack instead of rack/panniers that would just end up getting caked in filth.
Rainy season starts... any day now...
I'd recommend getting some full fenders for that if you plan on using it as your rain/mud bike. Have you tried your current setup in the rain yet? You're going to get very wet legs, and your bike and drivetrain won't be protected from the crap that gets flung off. Just sayin'...
