A more elegant solution is to buy a clamp on cable stop. I think that Problem Solvers is the brand name. After you find a source and price out the clamp on cable stop, however, zip ties are probably not going to look so bad.
I thought it would be easy

I am going to to run full housing but I cut a slot in the guide in the toptube and widen the stop in the toptube so that I can put the full housing in. I was caerful with the dremel and cutting disk it will look nicer than zipties
