cable routing changed form cantilever to linear puul

ok I am almost done with my arrette rebuild.
I put my vbrakes on but I have some cable routing questions.
see the picture below

the cable stop on the end of the top tube not inthe picture nicely fits a cable with a ferule
the loop on the end near the on the head tube seat tube does not.

the loop on that seat tube will allow me to slip a housing in if there is no ferule on it but that just looks wrong. I don't think i need a ferule with the noodle

so I assume I do this below , but what do I do to the loop on the top tube. I think it is "expecting" to just be a bare wire guide not a housing stop

The last pic is how you want it run, maybe a little shorter on the housing but you have the right idea there. You do not have to use any of the old cable stops if you do not want to. You can run full length housing even if you would like and not use any of them, just cable tie the housing to the frame to keep it in place.

that's just mockup housing.
does drilling out the guide to the size of a ferule makes sense probably only drill out part of the way to leave a "shoulder"

If it won't accept a ferule, it doesn't need one. Don't drill it out.

it doesn't really accept housing either its more funnel or trumpet shaped which is why I think its a guide not a stop

Bikes: Catrike 559 I own some others but they don't get ridden very much.

I'll bet that you didn't think that cable routing was going to be such a big issue.

The cheap dirty solution, like chriskmurray said, is to run a continuous cable housing from the brake lever to the brake and zip tie it to the frame.

A more elegant solution is to buy a clamp on cable stop. I think that Problem Solvers is the brand name. After you find a source and price out the clamp on cable stop, however, zip ties are probably not going to look so bad.

I thought it would be easy

I am going to to run full housing but I cut a slot in the guide in the toptube and widen the stop in the toptube so that I can put the full housing in. I was caerful with the dremel and cutting disk it will look nicer than zipties

A bike isn't complete without at least one or two zipties.....................
