I have mine mounted on the optional rack mount on my tandem, but the clip is very sturdy. It slides off the mount, and and it will clip on a rear bag or even on the back of your pants. Very handy if you have more than one bicycle that you ride occasionally at night, but it's bright enough to attract attention in daylight.
