Cygolite Hotshot mounting?
Seeing many recommendations, I'm interested to know more about the Cygolite Hotshot taillight. What I need to know is, how flexible is its mounting system? Is it only for seatpost, or can be used on seatstays? Rear rack? Clip to backpack? I have Radbot 1k, so any comparison to it will be helpful. Thanks!
P.S. Also, does it come with the battery?

The battery is built in- recharge via USB. Comes with seat post only, though can order additional rack mount. All kinds of youtube vids on the Hotshot (including a couple from BF's own mechBgon). The new NiteRider Solas 2w is now out and comes with seat post and stay mounts (no vids yet ...).
ETA: The Hotshot comes with a clip, though I can't speak for how strong it is. You can order the rack mount direct from Cygolite here- https://www.shop.cygolite.com/product...&categoryId=74

Thank you so much for the quick reply and the link. I wish they have seatstay mount. The rear rack bracket will help, although I wish I could install TWO taillights, hence two brackets, on the rear rack. I think two taillights closely side by side can increase visibility enormously.
Thanks for introducing NiteRider Solas 2w. Will keep watching for any new videos about it
P.S.: One thing about the Radbot 1k that I haven't found its equal is it is also a reflector.

Take some a small bit of electrical tape, put one end on the metal and the other on a section of old inner tube*. Wrap the tube around itself until you approximate the diameter of the seat post, then take another section of tape to fix the tube to itself. I've got room on the upper part of the racks "dog leg" to mount 2 lights per side if I wanted, should I chose to make more 'shims'.
As far as the lack of lights that can do double duty as a reflector, well... they are few and far between. The NR Cherrybomb (I have the 0.5w) has a built-in reflector, though it's small in comparison to the Radbot. BUMM out of Germany have a few that have reflectors, but they don't blink, as German law mandates a steady only mode and prohibits strobes. I have a B&M 4D Toplight mounted on the proper rack mounting point. So right now, I've got the PBSF on the left rack leg, the 4D at the rack center, and the Cherrybomb on the seat post.
*I tried just using the tube by itself, and using the clamp of the mount to keep the tube from unwinding, but it would not stay put. Someone here gave me the tip that I needed the tape to act as a friction agent to ensure that the tube (and the light with it) didn't rotate on every bump.

I have mine mounted on the optional rack mount on my tandem, but the clip is very sturdy. It slides off the mount, and and it will clip on a rear bag or even on the back of your pants. Very handy if you have more than one bicycle that you ride occasionally at night, but it's bright enough to attract attention in daylight.
