This was relevant because that racist dude was whining about products made in China and Bikewise was just filling him in on how things work.

We know your dura-ace wheels are not Chinese made crap, they are not even made in China. The outcome is obvious, you will get a warranty replacement wheel but to answer your other question, I have never seen this before. Most of the dura-ace wheels I have seen were still alloy rims and they seemed to hold up great.
