Did your bike come with BB7s? I have BB5's now and they suck! So hard to align. I heard the BB7 is so much easier.
I made the switch from BB5's to BB7's a few years ago on a Muirwoods 29er. It was the best upgrade I've ever made. If you're using MTB bars, also consider upgrading to Avid SpeedDial levers. They're way better than the generic alloy levers that came with the Muirwoods (and cheap too).
