My daily 17 mile lunch ride is out and back on rural East/West highway. We get pretty stout winds in Nebraska and when I have a 25+mph 90 degree cross wind combined with a sand hauling dump truck, or this time of year a grain truck, meeting me at 65+mph, the wind blast is incredible. The worst part is the turbulence, not the wind speed. The buffeting is awful. I just get low and punch though it. I've learned not to fight it too hard, but to stay a little loose and let the bike float around if it needs to. If you don't ride in the wind in this part if the country, you just don't get to ride. It's just part of it.
