That's awesome. I've had the same experience when I've been off my road bike for awhile, riding fixed exclusively. The road bike is a sexy machine, but it always feels so foreign, and I have to remember how to ride it. Then, of course, every time I go for a long ride on my road bike, I almost get thrown off my fixie the next time I take it out.

If I hadn't just done a 50 mile ride this morning, and didn't have potentially conflicting plans for the afternoon, I'd be all about making this a SS&FG geared ride. I *might* still make it out, but don't wait for me.
