If you want a 2nd bike for rain rides, maybe it's an idea, but honestly you should be looking for a newer bike if you want to do a group swap because 12 year old 105 may shift better than 2300 if properly tuned, but chances are you'll have to start replacing components soon and that adds up. Also, those wheels are Nashbar-bought and designed for heavy riders (250+ lbs), they are very sturdy but also very heavy and relatively cheap (~$150 new) so they aren't really an upgrade unless you currently have seized bearings and can't fix them.
