I empathize. Having gone over my '66 Paramount with a fine tooth comb and pronouncing the frame "perfect," I was stunned to discover a tiny indentation in the top tube. After removing the cable housing clamp for clean up, there it was... not under the clamp, either, but adjacent to it so that shadow or light or just pure bliss camouflaged it from my eyes. FWIW, I'm leaving it alone, and considering it an honor badge of it's racing history.
