I bought a used Kestrel 200SCi frame in April just to see what CF is like. I agree you're kind of rolling the dice with old CF frames (although you are with any old frame or part). But it cost about half what they're asking for this one, so I figured that even if something was really wrong I wouldn't be out very much. It turned out to be in great shape.
+1. Cracked CF frame would scare the bejebus out of me. I'll add another thought about this particular frame - I had one a few years back, built up very nicely and a very light config. Rode like a dead fish though - absolutely hated the feel of the ride and couldn't get rid of it fast enough.
